Did the Jewish Defense
League (LDJ – Ligue de Défense Juive) in France initiate attacks on
French civilians suspected of anti-Semitism? Police in the city of Lyon
believe it did and arrested six Jewish members of the local office on
Tuesday on suspicion of carrying out two attacks against anti-Semitic
activists.
According to news agency
reports, the first assault took place on December 21 in Lyon. The next
day, last Sunday, another attack was carried out in Villeurbanne. Police
suspect that the local "league" – a right-wing Jewish organization
affiliated with the late Rabbi Meir Kahane – is behind these acts, and
that the gang tracked down its victims on social networks.
